At least two brothers were killed and seven others injured in a blast in the suburban area of Sara Ghorgai in Quetta, police said on Saturday.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to police sources.
The police said: "Two brothers identified as Abdus Salam and Abdul Nafay."
According to police, an explosion occurred, when a group of individuals was travelling in a vehicle towards a coal mine.
The vehicle belonged to the owner of a coal mine, who had reportedly received information that an attack had taken place at his mine and that vehicles and other property at the site had been set on fire.
Upon receiving the report, he and several others set out for the location. However, while en route, an explosion occurred near their vehicle.
