Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney reveals juicy details about the third season of the HBO hit series and reflects on how the role of Cassie Howard has transformed her life.
Since its debut in 2019, HBO’s Euphoria has gripped audiences worldwide, thanks to its raw portrayal of teen life, addiction, and complex characters. Starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Alexa Demie, the show has already delivered two gripping seasons. Fans are eagerly waiting for the third season, which is expected to premiere in early 2026 if there are no delays.
In a recent chat with an international media outlet, Sydney Sweeney, known for her role as Cassie Howard, offered a sneak peek into what’s next for her character and the show. “I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear,” she said. “She’s crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but it all comes from a place of love—sometimes a sad version of love.”
Sydney went on to praise Euphoria creator Sam Levinson for letting her explore Cassie’s chaotic side. “And this season is unhinged,” she teased with a laugh, hinting that Season 3 will be even more intense than the previous ones.
Sydney also talked about the challenges of playing such a polarizing character, especially with the rise of social media. “People have a hard time separating actors from their characters, especially with someone like Cassie who is both hated and loved,” she shared. “If people are hating me for playing Cassie, I’m doing it right.”
Despite the trolls, Sydney remains committed to her craft. “I always dreamed of playing characters like this,” she said. “I was 20 when we filmed the pilot and 21 when it came out. It’s been a whirlwind. You have to roll with the punches, grow, learn, and adapt.”
