Global music and film sensation Jennifer Lopez is once again under legal scrutiny — this time over sharing photos on social media without permission.
According to international media reports, celebrity photographer Edwin Blanco and photo agency Backgrid have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the Hollywood star. The lawsuit claims Lopez posted photos taken during the Golden Globes Weekend on her personal Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) account, under the title "GG Weekend Glamour", without obtaining prior authorization.
The plaintiffs allege that the images were used for promotional purposes tied to Jennifer Lopez’s personal brand, a move they argue constitutes a clear violation of copyright laws. They further claim that the unauthorized posts led to widespread redistribution of the images by fan pages and fashion accounts, causing even more damage to their intellectual property rights.
In the legal filing, the photographers are seeking up to $150,000 in damages per violation, underscoring the seriousness of the claim. The case not only involves questions about copyright ownership but also the monetization of content by celebrities through their online presence.
Notably, this isn’t the first time Lopez has faced such allegations. In the past, she’s been sued over similar copyright issues related to unauthorized use of photographers' work.
