A new Beatles song created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) will be released on November 2.
The Beatles including Lennon, McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Harrison went their separate ways in 1970 and pursued solo careers. They never reunited.
Tragically, Lennon was fatally shot in New York in 1980 at the age of 40 and Harrison passed away from lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 58.
This song, titled "Now And Then" was originally written and sung by John Lennon and has now been completed by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and AI.
The song was finished by McCartney and Starr last year which also incorporates fellow ex-Beatle George Harrison's electric and acoustic guitar recorded in 1995.
The track will be released by Apple Corps, Capitol, and Universal Music Enterprises, along with a music video. A documentary about the song's creation will also be available on YouTube.
"Now And Then" was originally recorded by John Lennon in the late 1970s and features piano music.
"Now And Then" was among the songs recorded by John Lennon on a cassette for Paul McCartney a year before Lennon's passing. Yoko Ono, Lennon's widow, presented this cassette to McCartney in 1994.
Producer Jeff Lynne polished and released two more such songs, "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love," in 1995 and 1996.
AI was used to separate Lennon's voice from the piano chords.
Paul McCartney expressed his excitement about working on Beatles music in 2023.
With the help of AI, the background noise on the demo was removed which made the song release possible.
The release will also include the Beatles' 1962 debut single "Love Me Do" and cover art by artist Ed Ruscha.
This release is significant for fans and a touching moment of Beatles history.
