The special prosecutor in the Mustafa Amir murder case has written a letter to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and the investigating officer, seeking guidelines from the prosecution and urging a more extensive probe into the accused, Armaghan Qureshi.
According to the letter, Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Arain has recommended that the parents of the accused, as well as the mother of the deceased, be included in the investigation.
He has also raised concerns that Armaghan and his associates might be involved in financing terrorist activities and could have links with elements hostile to the country. The letter calls for sensitive agencies to conduct a thorough inquiry into these allegations.
Furthermore, the prosecutor has advised that Armaghan’s associates, along with the friends of the deceased Mustafa Amir, should be questioned. He has urged investigators to obtain details of the accused’s and victim’s property, business dealings, bank accounts, and travel history.
The letter also emphasizes the need to treat the weapons and other items recovered from Armaghan’s residence as case property and subject them to forensic examination.
Additionally, it suggests seeking assistance from DHA security personnel and local intelligence officials to gather more evidence.
Moreover, the special prosecutor has stressed the importance of obtaining and forensically analyzing CCTV footage from Armaghan’s house and its surrounding areas to further the investigation.
